my vaca so far...

Meeting fun at work. Love our meetings, we always have lots of fun and candy to share. The staff is what makes it all worth it and we only had a hand full of us there so we missed everyone that wasnt there! Great way to start out of meek all pumped up for the month of May.Not really sure why I thought that a large popcorn was a good idea, but the dogs now have a fun snack throughout the week. Kris and I had a date day. We went to smash burger ( OMG best burger place ever! ) had a milkshake AND went to see kickass where I thought popcorn was a good idea, so much for trying to be healthy.

The hubby and I just bummin around. We had a last meal/ date day since Kris was getting his wisdom teeth out. We had a blast and just hung out which we dont get to do that often.

Ephesians for breakfast. I have been studying the book of Ephesians. If I could take out any book of the Bible and just have that one this would be it. It has everything I need. Freedom in Christ, how to live, and the story behind why the believer has hope. Such a great rich text to study and dwell on.

This is Willy making friends at the dog park. So, I didnt know how I would feel about my pups at the dog park, but he did so good. So sweet and friendly. Now to try and get the other two invloved we shall see how it goes.

I took Willy walking with me today since I was walking with my friends Sarah and Laura, but Willy got a little tired, so he had to hitch a ride from Lilly's stoller. He had a blast though. So great to spend time with my baby.

Of course it wouldnt be a vacation without me ensuring that Im keeping up with my swagger. I have not had to do anything major but rest and relax. This has helped me to be able to capture what I am really all about, reading, scrap booking, puppies, studying the Bible, worship at Novitas, call friends, watch random TV, loving the hubby, cleaning....my swagger indeed

Victoria and her Secrets

My job is a big part of my life and over the past 5 years Ive had a lot of interesting things happen to me so here it is:

TOP TEN stories from working at Victoria’s Secret.

10. This lady comes into the store and told myself and another manager that her bras were making her itch. We look at the bras and the tag says they are from 6 years ago ( clearly had gotten her use outta them). My manager explains the policy to her and the customer goes nuts! Calls us uneducated, rude. She says “ oh you will return these bras for me what is your name.” “My name is Nanette”. “What is your last name?” “ I don’t give out my last name” My manager calls security and the client says “ im not going anywhere!” My manager goes “ don’t make me hafa come across this counter!” The security officer is taking her out of the store and saying “ do you want me to call APD, cuz Ill call them!”

9. This is not one person it is many people rather than an isolated story. Woman comes in with a free panty card. I tell her “you can get white, nude, black or white”. The lady: “can I get a pattern?”. Me “ No, only the white, nude, black, or white”. Lady, “so no lace?” Me: “really?”

8. Client trying the make a return that is against our policy. I tell them “ Im really sorry, its not that I wont do this for you, its that I cant. We have cameras, they are watching me!”

7. Client, again with the free panty card * side note why all the difficult ones just getting the free stuff??

I wont give her the most expensive panty for free, its only the cotton ones. I go to the back to do a stock check for another client. Client says to my cashier “ that lady is so rude, she wouldn’t give me the panty I wanted AND she keeps going to the back to smoke!”

6. This wasn’t at my store but another store in the area. Three doors and one is right by the exit. Shoplifter comes in swoops up table cloth with the panties in it and all.

5. Punk teens on a Friday night trying to jack stuff in the fitting room. They try on some pink stuff and come out of the fitting room with nothing we found tags on the floor. So I called security to keep an eye on them. You know make their presence known. Well this old security guard comes in with like APD!! They take over and search the kids and found nothing on them ( they dumped the stuff in another part of the store). The cops like took over and I was like hey Im not gonna tell the guy with the gun what to do! The mom of one of the teens calls and I was like I just called security for crowd control and APD took over sorry lady I cant control the police.

4.All in one day we had a District manager visit, training a store manager, people filling out paper work, organized crime ring in our store, a fire drill, and a mall shooting in the parking lot. Only thing missing was a mariachi band playing la Couch a Rocha

3. Customer gets mad cause I wont take her $100 bill that is torn on its last thread. She calls me a bitch. I say what makes you think I can take this when the bank wont take it? Its money, not an IOU. If you want to act a fool do it outside, not up in here!

2. Old guy come in, with a beer ( he calls it lemonade) Drops $3000 on his 3 escorts. 3 blonde bimbos and not a one of me could tell me his name, just called him daddy.

1. I have 10 minutes to make $500 and I have a fake return, a client trying to get 5 free panties and a bird flys into the store and lands on a clients head. The lady is freaking out and asking what would have happened if it pooped on my head? I said “ Im sorry, but that’s not my bird I don’t know what to tell you” I shewed the bird into the back and had the stock person deal with it “ Imma need you to deal with this bird its distracting my customers!” Made my $500!!

I have some crazy stories, but I love what I do and Victoria’s Secret is the best place to work, shop, and experience!

Mood Elevator

We have this thing at work called the mood elevator. Basically we respond based upon our feelings and emotions. I think that this is true, but it does not make it right. I have a firm belief that one should respond with a Christ like attitude and that is the beauty and power of change that Christ has in a believers life. I do know for a fact though that this has helped me to be able to ask myself " where am I on this mood elevator?" and be able to say I know that I need to respond differently.

So we are always joking at work..."where are you on the mood elevator?" or " let me give you some good mojo to boost your mood" All in all a good concept, but the when we go further yes this is fact that it happens, but it doesnt make it right.

So, I ask you where are you on the mood eleavator??(pocket car mood elevator)

My town

Different places with a different viewpoint. If you want to know something about where you live and who are the people that you call neighbor, just take a drive down main street. You can find out alot about your bubble.

highest point in Arlington

My town....I live in Arlington. Arlington is two types of towns, it is a prestige community with upscale shopping, dining, and entertainment. The other side is diverse, rustic, and in poverty. You wouldnt think that this would be the same place, but it is. Arlington there are so many different types of cultures, ideas, and lifestyles. I went for a drive the other day and captured my town by photos:

I drove down one main street in my town. I didnt even go to each end. I put in a cd with some drivin music on it and just watched. It funny what you can learn by just observing and seeing what people will do and say.

owner of a local fish market

Hispanic community paintings

Outside this market a random guy tried to sell me name brand perfume. I detered him with a british accent.

accident just happened. rescue in action

Ive lived in many places, been on mission trips, etc. You dont need to donate money to some random charity. You dont need to cross the border in order to reach the poor. Why dont you just drive down the street and help someone in need? It can be comfortable to help someone that you will never meet, but making a connection and reaching out in your community it outside of our thinking box. There is where the poverty is: right next door.
